New Year, New Adventures!

Happy New Year!

Since finishing a successful first Art Odyssey in Ibizia, it has been a quiet time for Milanto, but a busy time for Valerio. Milanto has been safely tucked away (literally) in the boatyard, while Valerio made another Atlantic crossing from Gran Canaria to St. Lucia with Amerigo, a Swan 58, with a fantastic Finnish and British crew.

What’s next?

So maybe Milanto’s next journey isn’t exactly a ‘new’ Adventure but more a rejig of our 2022 Art Odyssey route. However, the response to the new itinerary has already been enthusiastic with Legs 2, 4 and 5 already sold out. Read all about it here and get in contact for more information.

The End of an Odyssey

Our ‘Art Odyssey Tour’ around the Ancient World in 10 incredible legs, lasting 4 months, covering 4,235 miles of sailing and 5 countries, has come to a close.

We visited:

50 Archeological sites;

24 Museums;

22 Locations where we took fish and sea water samples for our scientific research on micro-plastic with the University of Florence and;

42 Crew members helped in making this voyage possible.

Experiencing all weather conditions, with the joy of sailing, swimming and discovering new places, we were happy to share our experience and transmit the pleasure and freedom that comes from sailing.

Many thanks to all of our wonderful crew mates!

Also, at the end of our circumnavigation around the Ancient World, a big hug and many thanks is owed to Milanto. The boat with a great heart and soul, that kept us safe and provided much fun on our adventures.

A special thanks also to Sail Design Viareggio, University of Florence, MRG Viareggio and ENECOM Light Power.

Until our next adventure…

Love, hopes and dreams.

Halfway through the Art Odyssey

We are presently making our way north of Athens to meet our next crewmates in Limnos for Leg 6. It is a well-deserved rest and reset for both Milanto and her crew!

The journey so far has been brilliant. We could not ask for better crew, sailing and swimming weather, off-season empty marinas and anchorages and reconnecting with the friendly locals after a long hiatus due to Covid and the circumnavigation, having cruised these waters for the past 20 years.

Believe it or not, there were still undiscovered spots that I had never visited before, and landing in those locations felt like a revelation as I marvelled at the secluded blue water bays and preserved natural beauty of hidden villages - like stepping back in time - and having the real modern-day experience of being on an Odyssey.

Milanto is underway

Time seems to be flying. We are already nearing the end of Leg 2 in Siracusa, Sicily. It has been a great trip so far. The weather has worked in our favour with sunny days and light breezes, and because the season has not begun as yet, most ports and anchorages that are usually packed in the summer, has been empty except for us. A skipper’s dream! Here is a visual snippet of our journey so far.
